Lifeworks Street Outreach Clinic
Through partnership with LifeWorks, PCC offers medical care and health outreach visits to meet the basic health needs of homeless youth including health education, immunizations, medical assessment, and treatment services. This includes young people living on the street, as well as those staying in the Lifeworks Shelter and transitional living facility.
Youth receive services both at the Lifeworks off-site clinic and at the
Clinic. The project provides approximately 200 vulnerable adolescents and
young adults annually with easily accessible medical assessment and treatment,
health education, and preventive health services.
People's Community Clinic also coordinates with Lifeworks in the multi-agency
Tandem project to address the medical, educational, and psychosocial needs
of pregnant and parenting teens. This teen prenatal/parenting program offers
a coordinated service model, and is provided in collaboration with Any Baby
Can, Austin Child Guidance Center, LifeWorks and Forest for the Trees Research
and Consulting.
