Founded in 1970, People's Community Clinic is a non-profit, primary health care facility whose purpose is to provide high quality medical, counseling and health education services at reasonable costs to individuals and families in the Austin area. People's Community Clinic is dedicated to responding to community needs, particularly those of limited income patients. The Clinic promotes community involvement in the provision of health care and emphasizes health maintenance and disease prevention in all treatment programs.


People's Community Clinic has won the title of Best Public Health Care in the 2006 Austin Chronicle's Reader's Poll!

May 14, 2007 Press Release - People's Community Clinic Gives Annual "W. Neal Kocurek" Award.

Kenneth I. Shine, M.D., Executive Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs at UT will be speaking about the report "Code Red: the Critical Condition of Healthcare in Texas." Louis Black, editor of the Austin Chronicle and former Clinic patient, will also be speaking about the Clinic's impact on the Austin community.

Mamapalooza

The First Annual Austin Mamapalooza benefit event, featuring live music, performance, art and more by local mother-musicians, among them Sarah Hickman and Idgy Vaughn will take place on May 6 at Austin Symphony Square.

Event proceeds will go to the Tandem Teen Prenatal and Parenting Program of People's Community Clinic, which serves the medical, educational, and psychosocial needs of pregnant and parenting teens and works to reduce the risk of subsequent unplanned pregnancies in Central Texas.
